Your Reading & Multimedia Pocket!

Sometime back (in an old blog) I wrote a lengthy piece about how to set up a way to store all the articles and multimedia you find on the web and wish to read/watch later. This little method allowed you to access these materials from your computer & mobile device. It was a bit tricky to set up but it served me well.

After I published the instructions on how to set it up, someone pointed out to me a great app called Pocket and it turned out to be exactly what this method was aiming to achieve except this app was very simple to set up and easy to use. So thank you very much to that person!

6 months after using the Pocket app, I absolutely loved it! I found myself mostly using it to save articles and the best thing about it was that it formatted these articles into a reader friendly, clutter-free version. So this morning as I was drinking my coffee, instead of searching around social media for something interesting to read, I simply opened up my pocket app on my tablet and read an article I had saved earlier. It was such a refreshing way to start the day!

What is Pocket?  (straight from the website)

Pocket is the best way to save and view articles, videos and more. When you find something on the web that you want to view later, put it in Pocket. Once it’s in Pocket, it’s on your phone, tablet or computer. You can read an article during a flight, see a web page while you wait in line or watch a video while relaxing at home. No Internet connection is required.

Pocket used to be a #1 Paid App but now it is Free!

You can access Pocket at getpocket.com & then download the app into all your devices.

Once you have completed that, head over to getpocket.com/add & find out ways on how to save your materials into your Pocket App.

So there you have it! Take a look & let me know what you think! :-)

  1. Nice article :)
I don’t use this app just because I don’t like its name and the icon :P
    I use Readability :D

    • Thanks for your comment! I’ve heard about readability but wasn’t aware that it was similar to Pocket. Based on your experiences however, do you think there are any advantages to readability over pocket? Or is it just the name and icon that is more appealing? :)
